OVERVIEW:
Hungarian paprika is a bit hotter and slightly less sweet than basic paprika. Paprika peppers, also known as pimento peppers or sweet red peppers, have very little heat and add a nicely rounded and mildly smoked flavor. It's relished for its vibrant color and is used all over the world. It is essential to Hungarian cuisines but also provides wonderful seasoning for marinades, soups, stews, potatoes, eggs, and cheese dishes.

Capsaicin is the main bioactive plant compound in chile peppers and the more capsaicin it contains the hotter the chile pepper.
