OVERVIEW:

This premium-grade Wu-Yi Big Red Robe (Da Hong Pao) tea is from the Wu-Yi Mountains in the Fujian province of China. It grows defiantly in the gaps of the mountain boulders, which endow it with the highly prized mineral 'rock taste.'  It offers rich aromas of roasted vegetables, sweet honey, and wet stones. Delicately spicy, robust and rounded texture, with pit-fruit flavors and subtle ripe peach juiciness.

Oolongs, a tea with marvelous complexity, are the wide, wide category of tea in between green and black tea. It combines their qualities giving it several interesting health benefits. Oolong teas, aka wulong or black dragon, are made from large leaves that are produced in the late Spring and are the most labor intensive tea to produce. Traditionally, these more oxidized teas are steeped multiple times producing new flavors with each subsequent brew. If you are using a smaller capacity teapot, you can resteep up to 5 times.
