Gigantic size, yellow-orange sunflower petals move with the sun throughout the day. This plant is the largest and one of the most popular plants in the daisy family. Dried sunflower petals have a neutral distinctly bittersweet flavor and are the perfect addition to any salad, snack or smoothie bowl and they will bring more than sunshine when added to tea blends.
Their bright appearance makes a lovely contribution to most any creation such as an ingredient in soaps, candles, potpourri, and dyes. Sunflower petals are high in antioxidants and are rich in many nutrients such as vitamin E. In herbal medicine, the tea made from the flowers is used in the treatment of malaria and lung ailments and are believed to be very effective in the case of a sore throat and to reduce inflammation of the windpipe and tonsils.
