The radish is a root vegetable in the cabbage family and radish sprouts, like all sprouts, taste like the matured plant but with a more potent flavor. They are rich in beneficial nutrients such as enzymes, antioxidants, protein, minerals and vitamins. Radish Sprouts provide a sense of fullness after eating. They have a pungent and slightly bitter flavor. Use the seeds in pickling brine, vinegar and mustard recipes. Radish seeds may also be sprouted for use in salads and sandwiches.
Radish sprouting seeds should be soaked for 4 to 6 hours and will sprout in 4 to 5 days. They need to be thoroughly rinsed with cool, clean water 2 times per day and then drain as much water as possible. Refrigerate your sprouts after their final rinse.
