OVERVIEW:

Mexican oregano is a close relative of lemon verbena and it has a mild citrus-like quality, combined with a hint of pine. This more robust flavor stands up to the stronger flavors used in Mexican cooking such as hot chilies and cumin, which could overwhelm the more delicate oregano from the Mediterranean. Use it to flavor dishes like chili, braised or roasted pork and tortilla soup.

Oregano is versatile and has a treasure of health benefits. It's loaded with detoxifying, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and is a rich source of dietary fiber. It is commonly used in tea blends.
