OVERVIEW:
Lemon Myrtle is in the Eucalyptus family and is a uniquely refreshing and exquisitely aromatic citrus-fragranced herb from the coastal rainforests of eastern Australia. It has been described as “more lemon than lemon”. The lemon flavor is distinctly tangy with lime zest notes and a pleasant camphor aftertaste. It can be an excellent substitute for lemongrass. With its extremely versatile lemon flavoring, it can be added to baked goods, savory dishes and is a popular infusion for teas and other beverages.
Lemon myrtle has even found its way into cleaning products and health and beauty products. Lemon Myrtle is a rich source of energy, helpful antioxidants, it is antiseptic and it contains antibacterial /antifungal components.
