OVERVIEW:
Donq quai is a member of the carrot family and its root has a mild, sweet taste that pairs well with licorice. It is referred to as "female ginseng" since it's thought to have a balancing effect on the female hormonal system and traditionally it has been used as a Chinese remedy to support women's health. The root is rich in vitamins A, B-3, C, E, iron, magnesium, and other minerals and it has compounds with anti-inflammatory and immune-stimulating effects. Dong Quai Root is commonly used as teas and tinctures, usually with other herbs.
