This chil pepper is not for the faint of heart given that it is 4 to 5 times hotter than a habanero pepper. In early 2007, Guinness Book of Records officially recognized Bhut Jolokia "Ghost Chile" as being the world’s hottest chile. Today, it doesn't even make the top 10 hottest peppers. Ghost chile powder's flavor is said to be reminiscent of green apples and apricots but you are quickly overwhelmed by fiery intensity. A little goes a long way in dishes like chili, salsas, chutneys, curries, pickles, pizza, sauces and wings.
