OVERVIEW:

A little bit of Cayenne Pepper adds zesty flavor and fiery heat to many cuisines; Cajun, Creole, Indian, Sichuan, and Thai to name a few. Hot, pungent and biting, it can be eight times hotter than chili powder. Cayenne Pepper is really used primarily to impart heat into a dish while other peppers are used for their “flavor”. This fiery kick is ideal for adding warmth to braises, curries, stews, chili, and BBQ sauces enhancing other savory flavors without overwhelming them.

Members of the nightshade family, chili peppers have a lot going for them. Capsaicin is the main bioactive plant compound in chile peppers and the more capsaicin it contains the hotter the chile pepper. Chile peppers have a long list of health benefits and will always provide you an abundance of vitamins and minerals. They are rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory plant compounds.
