Broccoli seed is the source of broccoli sprouts and is part of the Cruciferae family. Broccoli is full of antioxidants and broccoli sprouts
have 50 times more than the matured broccoli heads. The sprouts have a very mild cabbagey flavor with the slightest bit of tang. Broccoli sprouts are added to salads, soups, pestos, pizzas, and wraps for flavor and texture. Try them as an addition to Greek salads, sun-dried tomato dishes, guacamole, tortilla soup (added just before serving), tofu, carrots, or as a side dish all on their own with a little vinaigrette.
Broccoli sprouting seeds should be soaked for 8-10 hours and will sprout in 3 - 6 days. They need to be thoroughly rinsed with cool, clean water 2 - 3 times per day and then drain as much water as possible. Refrigerate your sprouts after their final rinse.
