The Astralagus sliced root is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for a variety of ailments and it is adaptogenic. It promotes healing, reduces fatigue, supports the heart and the immune system. It adds a sweet, mildly earthy flavor to shakes, soups, elixirs, and teas but the pieces need to be removed before consuming like you would a bay leaf.
